MP handles both import and export cargoes. Products range from lumber and paper to refrigerated cargo, steel, bentonite, copper oxide and dry bulk commodities, most delivered to us by railcar or truck. MP unloads roughly 11,000 railcars annually, and we transload, devan, loadout or dray approximately 6,000 containers per month.

To meet customer's needs, MacMillan-Piper oversees a dedicated trucking fleet, which includes radio equipped tractors, super chassis, and its own dispatch departments. This allows for proper coordination of all shipments, ensuring we meet your deadlines. MacMillan-Piper uses time-saving technology, such as push-bin loaders to allow quick unloading of railcars and loading of ocean-bound containers. MP can move just about any product-from huge rolls of kraft linerboard, to heavy steel coils, to tons of bulk product such as animal feed. A sophisticated computer network with high-speed internet access allows us to receive and transfer information to our customers.

MacMillan-Piper has U.S. Customs on site at one of its facilities. MP is a designated Central Examination Station (CES) as well as the Contraband Enforcement Team (CET) site for the Port of Seattle. We are also USDA certified in both ports. This relationship with U.S. Customs ensures cargo is cleared quickly without costly delays.
